Getting around Marrakech

Airport
Marrakech’s international airport, Menara Airport, is located 6km to the southwest of Marrakech. Generally, only major airlines service the Marrakech route. Passengers may find more airlines flying into Casablanca which is a 30 minute flight from Marrakech.

Travelling from the Airport
To get into the city of Marrakech, passengers can take a bus which runs every 30 minutes to the Jemaa el-Fna. Buses are infrequent on weekends. Alternatively, taxis can be found outside the terminal as well, but price should be agreed upon before the journey. Cash is accepted for both modes of transport.

Getting Around
Within Marrakech there are a variety of transport modes and they are all quite reliable. The national coach company is the main provider of bus services within Marrakech and to other cities.

Taxis
There are standard meter run taxis as well which can be hailed around the city. Another form of taxi is the Grands Taxis which carries up to six people. It’s important to agree on the price beforehand.

Other modes
The popular alternatives to car travel include bicycles and scooters. Both can be rented around the city.
