The Balearic islands are now among the in places to see and be seen in high summer. Ibiza, of course, tends to attract those who actively seek public attention, why else would minor stars spend their nights cavorting on the dance floors of the island’s mega nightclubs. It is a different story in Mallorca, though. While the mass-market hoards may still descend each year between May and September to board their coaches for resorts such as Arenal, Palma Nova and Magaluf, there is another face of this island, the face which has encouraged the likes of Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones, Claudia Schiffer, Calista Flockhart, Harrison Ford, Jade Jagger, Boris Becker and dozens of others to call Mallorca home, if only for part of each year.
