Le Byblos Hotel, Saint-Tropez
The Cote d’Azur is where modern celebrity spotting really started when Brigitte Bardot put the tiny fishing village of St Tropez on the map when she starred in the film “And God Created Woman”. The place to stay for a better than average chance to mingle with the glitterati is Le Byblos hotel, right in the heart of this star-studded town.
Much of the daytime action takes place around the pool, where there is a super-cool bar and restaurant where you can spot celebs enjoying anything from a quick snack to a full-blown meal.
At night, though, it all happens at the hotel’s famous nightclub, Les Caves du Roy, so popular with the likes of Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Donatella Versace, Jack Nicholson, Bruce Willis and half the drivers on the Formula One circuit that the queue to get in often spills out onto the street. Yet another reason to stay at the hotel itself -- there’s a separate entrance track for guests.
