Sushiya in Edinburgh

A short walk from Edinburgh's Haymarket station, that's the one in the west end of the city, not the one in the city centre, you'll find what is one of the best Japanese Sushi and noodle bars anwhere in town - or in Scotland fior that matter. It's a tiny place that seats probably twenty people at most and it's easy to walk by it, so small is it's frontage. Don't be put off by the fact that it isn't in the best part of town it's well worth a visit.

The miso soup is great, as is the sushi and the sashimi. Best of all are the bowels of piping hot noodles, my favourite is the Chicken Yakisoba. You sit on high stools which helps to keep their turnover of diners as they are not the most comfortable to sit on. However, if you want a tasty, and filling Japanese meal it's the perfect place to go. It's very Tokyo and beats Wagamamas hands down. Be prepared to wait for a table at weekends, but do wait, it's worth it.
