Must See Dubai Sights and Tourist Attractions

While Dubai plays host to a number of events every year, January seems to be a popular month of choice to visit, for the annual shopping festival. Promotions and discounts are offered for a whole month on a vast range of products from clothing to jewelry to electronics. As well, Dubai is home to a number of sporting events throughout the year, including the Dubai world cup held every March. This is the richest horse race in the world and is attended by thousands of people.

Old Dubai - Bastakiya
Bastakiya is a district of market places on the creek which is sort of the cultural centre of Dubai. It has narrow winding lanes, and traditional courtyard houses. This area is also known as Old Dubai. It houses some of the popular historical attractions such as the Dubai Museum and Al Fahidi Fort. The entrance fee to the museum is 3 DHS. You can also take a trip on an abra - a traditional small wooden boat across the Dubai creek.

The Gold Souk
The Gold Souk is one of the main attractions in Dubai. You will find many jewellers here from the Indian subcontinent. The price of gold is dependent on the current market price but bargaining is common practice.

Desert Safari
This is one of the most famous attractions in Dubai. You travel on sand dunes in 4x4s and experience the true Arabian desert. Trips generally include food and entertainment. You can also go sand boarding at some of these attractions.

Burj Al Arab
Dubai is home to the only 7 star hotel in the world, the Burj al Arab, which is built to resemble a sail. The hotel draws a constant stream of tourists each day, marvelling at the architecture.
