Ruga Reali
Tucked away in a small courtyard off a winding alley in Agrigento, the Ruga Reali restaurant can easily be missed by a wandering tourist. And that’s a pity, since the patchwork quilt of recommendation stickers from food guides on its front doors testify that this is a foodie’s paradise.
Located on the ground floor of a fifteenth-century palazzo, the Ruga Reali provides a welcoming setting. It’s also obviously a haunt favoured by local theatre-goers frequenting the nearby Teatro Pirandello judging by the posters and recommendations scattered across its walls. Sampling dinner there, it’s easy to see why: starters such as steamed whole octopus that melt in the mouth, and fresh homemade pasta dishes make this a venue to discover.
