In:Spa founder, Kathryn Brown, set up the company because she couldn’t find a yoga holiday she wanted to go on herself. “One that combined a high level of accommodation with a group experience”. In:Spa takes groups of up to 25 people, along with health experts who run the retreat including personal trainers, yoga teachers, nutritionists and chefs, to a boutique hotel in Spain or Morocco for a week of delicious detox food, Vinyasa yoga, outdoor exercise and deep-tissue massage. The hot dry heat and stark plains of Morocco provide an exotic setting in which to concentrate on you. Based at the marvellous Jnane Tamsna, a boutique hotel in the Palmerie area of Marrakesh, there are 15 bedrooms spread over two buildings each with a rooftop view of the date palms and mountains. Interiors are a stunning mix of artefacts and furniture from all over the Islamic world. There are two pools, plenty of nooks and crannies to hide away with a book and a hammam. The fitness & yoga holiday features three treks in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains as well as a full programme of yoga, fitness activities, nutritional consultations and massage.
Price: A totally inclusive seven night package with all accommodation, airport transfers, food, yoga, consultations and treks starts from £1885 per person.
Yogi rating: Though there’s a full programme of events, you are encouraged to listen to your body. If you need sleep, then sleep. The week also includes a one to one session with the nutritionist and personal trainer and three 45-minute massages.
