Hip Yoga, Malaga, Spain
If you like your yoga with a liberal sprinkling of pampering, Hip Yoga is for you. Here indulgence is just as important as health and detox. Imagine a stylishly converted olive mill in the foothills of Andalucia’s rugged mountain range, the Sierra Nevada. Molino Bajo has a heavy Moorish/Moroccan influence, making it one of the most chilled out yoga retreats in the Med. An average day begins at 7.30am when elixirs and fresh juices are delivered to your bedroom followed by an invigorating walk in the Sierra Nevada. A light breakfast on the terrace is followed by a two-hour yoga practise. A detoxifying lunch is served at midday followed by free time to rest, sunbathe, read, walk, swim or enjoy a massage. At 4pm herbal teas are served before an evening yoga class. A candlelit dinner is served on the dramatic rooftop when everyone chats and winds down from the day.
Price: Six nights from £1150 per person full board including airport transfers, all yoga classes and a massage.
Yogi rating: Hip yoga’s chef, Lauren Palmer is Madonna’s former chef and an expert at creating mouth watering food that builds health and energy. Think tasty macrobiotic, wheat-, dairy-, and sugar-free dishes.
