Yogoloji at the Almyra, Paphos, Cyprus
The Almyra in Paphos is possibly the funkiest hotel in Cyprus with yoga for all the family. This cleverly renovated ‘70s hotel has an ultra trendy entrance with long slate infinity pools and a sleek boutique offering such delights as Paul & Joe daywear and Pucci swimwear. The hotel interior is a combination of minimalism with trendy tangerine leather chairs and deliberately overblown touches like elaborate chandeliers. The slate grey pool with its double white sunloungers is sublime. If budget allows, book a ‘Kyma’ (meaning ‘waves’) seafront suite. These self-contained minimalist palaces are the simplest of white boxes from the outside, but inside offer a spacious bedroom-cum-lounge area with gorgeous Tiffany-blue leather easychairs. Each Kyma has its own roof terrace with plenty of space for lounging with cocktail as the sun goes down. The Almyra Yogoloji retreat is a yoga programme for both parents and children and runs twice yearly in October and sometime next Spring (tbc). Parents enjoy dynamic morning and relaxing evening yoga classes coupled with meditation sessions and a daily treatment with a Yogoji therapist. Treatments include acupuncture consultation, yoga therapy, Ayurvedic Abhyanga, Indian head massage, holistic and Marma massages. Teeny yogini’s have their own yoga classes to go to and little people can attend the Baby Go Lightly Crèche from six months to four years.
There's also a team of Baby Concierges to see that little ones have everything they could possibly need. Read more about that here.
Price: Yogoloji weeks at Almyra start from £1005 per person with full board accommodation and all treatments and activities.
Yogi rating: Adult courses include a private one to one yoga session with top yoga teacher Liisa Halme. Last year, celebrity yoga master Maya Fiennes held her kundalini yoga courses here.
