It’s all about the seasons at this Logan Square organic favourite, so what looks like an averagely quirky cafe suddenly leaps to life in a riot of just-picked green garlic and market berries. Lula has a tendency to take itself seriously, so the most free-and-easy time to visit is brunch, when you can enjoy the gussied-up eggs and pastries (omelette with house-made basil sausage, radicchio, ricotta and poached garlic; cherry scone with brown sugar butter) without the attendant fanfare. If night-time suits better, try checking ahead for space at one of the regular farm dinners.
