Hotel Gates, Berlin
If you’re heading to Berlin, make like Marlon Brando and stay at Hotel Gates.
This 4-star hotel has had a number of celebrities grace its corridors and as soon as you check in, it’s not hard to see why.
Hotel Gates in Berlin is a stone’s throw from the famous Kurfürstendamm and it is also surrounded by a range of restaurants to tantalise the tastebuds.
The hotel, which opened in 2001, welcomes business travellers and families alike and many of its comfortable rooms come complete with their own laptops and high-speed internet access – perfect for catching up on the news back home.
No expense has been spared on the hotel’s sumptuous suites either. They’re the size of a small apartment and I would challenge anyone to find a comfier bed in Berlin.
Despite being housed in an old building, the wonderfully-restored hotel has retained much of its original charm and is big enough to feel professional yet small enough to be homely.
Breakfast is served daily in the light and airy morning room and city bicycles are available for hire, free of charge.
Hotel Gates – which was recently voted the Best Business Hotel in Berlin – is ideally situated for visiting Berlin’s main attractions, whether you’re in town for business or pleasure.
It is also close to the underground system, should you wish to go further afield.
