Old Railway Station Hotel
All aboard in Chichester Formerly Petworth Railway Station, The Old Railway Station Hotel is the perfect place to relax in colonial splendour. The station was built in 1894 and is an impressive grade II listed building, which has been lovingly restored and made into an excellent hotel, surrounded by the stunning Chichester countryside. Nearby you can visit Goodwood, home to the UK’s largest lowland organic farm, with a shop you can stock up in. You can also enjoy some history at the Weald and Downland open air museum or art at the stunning open air art gallery - the Cass Sculpture Foundation.
Back at the Old Railway, you can choose to stay in the old station itself or you can step back in time and board the train for the night. The Petworth Pullmans (as used on the Orient Express) are from the same era as the Titanic and were built to offer their passengers’ unrestrained luxury and comfort. There are four individual suites and each carriage has its own unique personality and colourful history. Breakfast is served either on the platform, in the original bookings hall or delivered to your carriage. Sleeping aboard one of these aristocratic British Pullmans is a delightful and memorable experience, so step back in time and re-live the golden age of rail travel.
