Courtesy of the National Trust for Scotland, you don’t have to imagine what life might have been like here in the 1790’s as they’ve opened up The Georgian House at 7 Charlotte Square, one of the two main squares which bookended George Street, originally the New Town’s main thoroughfare before Princes Street took over. The house isn’t large but beautifully restored and maintained.

1 to 20 Mar, daily 11am – 4pm; 21 Mar to 30 Jun, daily 10am – 5pm; 1 Jul to 31 Aug, daily 10am – 6pm; 1 Sep to 31 Oct, daily 10am – 5pm; 1 to 30 Nov, daily 11am – 3pm. Last admission 30 mins before closing.
