Product Review

This is the most detailed road atlas of Britain you can buy. It uses a scale of just 1.5 miles to an inch. So this creates a huge book of 380 A3 pages. Forget finding my way across country, I kept getting lost among all the pages.

It isn’t very portable to take on journeys – it won’t fit in a car door bin or glove box but is a great traveller’s reference tool.

The detail is mesmerising: it shows things like rough tracks, camp sites, canal bridges, heights and names of hills, and whether a beach is sand or shingle. I’ve spent hours studying it at home.

Sadly however, it doesn’t show the lane to my house but does show the rough track past our village church and the names of the farms nearby.
