For tasty, home-cooked food, head to The Sun Inn.

This warm and welcoming pub is located at a crossroads in Calbourne, just a stone's throw from Winkle Street, and comes highly recommended.

Like many other local pubs on the Isle of Wight, its staff are friendly and attentive, but The Sun Inn is one of the only hostelries on the island to boast its own miniature railway.

This runs around the bar at head-height much to the delight of its many visitors - but the food is the star attraction, without a doubt.

The Sun Inn offers an extensive range of dishes using island produce and impressively, it even offers separate menus for toddlers, young people, vegetarians and those who have gluten free diets.

It also boasts a number of specials, which change on a daily basis, and generally include homemade pies, burgers and curries, all made from locally sourced ingredients. Delicious!
