Product Review
These incredibly lightweight bags are as cheap as a couple of holiday paperbacks but last a lot longer: the woven polyester with a plastic lining is incredibly strong. I’ve used a Flylite bag for my sports gear every week for two years now and it still looks brand new.
The cheapness shows in the details however: the carry strap has a flimsy and uncomfortable rubber shoulder pad. And there are two zipped pockets for tickets and passports but the zip on one of them starts at the bottom corner – when you open it everything falls out. They look cheap but, as long as that doesn’t bother you, it means they are less likely to be stolen.
The £15 small foldaway bag measures 45 x 35 x 16cms and weighs less than 500g. It’s suitable for all airlines but in particular Jet 2 who have a smaller than standard size limit for passengers. At £20 the medium bag measures 55 x 40 x 20 cms and weighs less than 800g. This model is suitable for all the major airlines and in particular Easyjet and Ryanair, who set this size limit for cabin hand luggage.
The £25 large foldway is 70 x 40 x 30 cms and weighs less than 1300g. It holds hold enough for a two-week holiday but folds away to fit in a drawer at home. Cabin space on cruise liners is restricted and so these foldaway bags will not use up vital wardrobe space.
