360istanbul, modern Turkish cuisine with stunning views
With a view this good, it hardly matters what the food tastes like. So the fact that 360 has some fantastic fusion options and a seriously good cocktail list, as well as a panorama across to the lights of Sultanahmet, means you can hardly ask for more. Except perhaps another cocktail.
Tucked away at the top of an inconspicuous block on Isiklal Caddesi, the main pedestrian street in Beyoglu, you wouldn’t stumble across the award-winning restaurant by accident, but it’s popular enough that you’ll need to book.
At the top of the unprepossessing block, the lift opens into a superchic bar and restaurant plus tables on the wrap-around balcony outside.
Start with one of 360’s special martinis – the pomegranate version is definitely worth trying – before checking out the Turkish meets Western menu. Try the sushi with a twist or spiced seafood, then the Asian style fresh fish or quail with pistachio rice stuffing and pomegranate sauce.
The icing on the cake, of course, is being able to look across the Golden Horn to the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace – try to get there in time for sunset and watch the lights twinkling on the horizon. Then finish the night at 360’s club – the music gets going from around midnight.
