The Hotel Sporting, on a superb promontory in Porto Rotondo, in north-eastern Sardinia, boasts wonderful views of the harbour on one side, and direct access to a private beach on the other. Just a few minutes walk along the harbour, takes you into the centre of fashionable Porto Rotondo, making it the ideal choice for those wishing to be within walking distance of shops and restaurants.
This lovely hotel, with its whitewashed walls and beamed ceilings, has just 47 rooms, all decorated in an elegant, yet charming style, with softly coloured furnishings. Some rooms overlook the gardens, whilst those overlooking the sea, have direct access to the private beach, where sun-beds and parasols are complimentary. The delightful restaurant, with its a la carte menu, is famed for its exquisite seafood dishes and fine wines. Here, guests enjoy a refined and intimate dining experience, with lovely views over the Marina of Porto Rotondo from the covered terrace. The cosy Piano Bar, which comes to life at cocktail hour, has become a popular meeting place and is the perfect location to enjoy an after dinner drink in the company of new found friends.
For the sports minded guest, the hotel has a saltwater swimming pool, whilst the world renowned Pevero Golf Club (18 hole, par 72), is just a 20 minute drive away. Tennis courts and tuition (both at local cost) are located 300m from the hotel, and a variety of water-sports, including diving lessons, canoe and sailboat hire, are available on request (all at local cost). The hotel will also arrange sightseeing tours.
