A trip of two parts
Emma and Craig © Emma Field

I am taking a year to travel the length of the world, along with my photographer/teacher partner Craig. Taking in sixteen countries across three continents, this will be an adventure in two parts: India and the Americas.

Uniting the apparently separate trips is a love of overland travel and a desire to find out-of-the ordinary ways to experience the countries we plan to visit. The idea isn’t to get so far off the beaten track as to miss all the must-see attractions, but to see them with an added quirk.

One of my passions is overland travel so along the way I want to use as many different transport options as possible. Trains, buses, houseboats, rickshaws, camels, trams, share taxis, elephants, hot-air balloons, hire car, bicycles, trekking paths – you name it, I’ll give it a go.
