Top Boston Sights and Attractions
  Foodshop in Boston

Boston can be described in many ways. For such a cosmopolitan city, it’s actually pretty compact and walkable. Most of the top sights and attractions in Boston can be reached by simply walking, or you can always take the ' T ' - a nickname for the subway, which connects all points of Boston and can even deliver you to the airport. If you were looking for a list of the Top Ten things to see and do in Boston (which has actually stretched into eleven ), this would be it.

The Freedom Trail.  This walking tour covers 300 years of U.S. history in a 2 mile walk. The red (not yellow) brick road will walk you through U.S. history.   Keep an eye out for the guides dressed in colonial garb. You might even see Ben Franklin!

New England Aquarium.  Fish and so much more. If the 4-story shark tank doesn’t thrill you, the IMAX Theater will. Located (where else?) on the waterfront.

Faneuil Hall & Quincy Market.  Historical buildings pretending to be a mall, pretending to be historical buildings. Chock full of quirky shops, outdoor cafes and street performers.

Public Garden & Swan Boats.  A massively, stunning park in the middle of the City. Go see the bronze ducklings made famous in the children’s book, “Make Way for Ducklings”, then ride the Swan boats. Yes, they really are made to look like swans.

Newbury Street.  Eight square blocks of chicness you probably can’t afford.  Home to only the most exclusive stores and boutiques.  Have a cocktail at one of the many outdoor cafes in the summer and spend the evening people-watching.

Haymarket.  A huge farmer’s market of fruits, vegetables and the catch-of-the-day on Fridays during the summer months. Worth seeing, even if you don’t buy anything.

Beacon Hill.  The oldest and most expensive residential part of the city.  Check out the cobblestone streets, antique shops and brownstone homes filled with lush flowerboxes.

The U.S.S. Constitution.  The oldest commissioned warship in the world. See what life on the high seas was really like.

Fenway Park.  Where every Boston fan’s heart and soul is said to reside.  Home to the world famous Red Sox baseball team. FYI, it is America’s oldest and smallest ballpark.

Harvard University.  This is the place. You know, the college that never knew you existed. Located just outside Boston, in Cambridge, Harvard is the U.S.’s wealthiest university. While there, be sure to check out funky Harvard Square as well.  Pronounced: "Haaaav-vaaadd" if you want to sound like a local.

The North End.   If it feels like Italy, you must be in the North End.  Cobblestone streets crammed with bakeries, cheese shops, restaurants and cafes, it’s the place to be if you’re hungry.

Sam Adams Brewery.  Beer, beer, and more beer. Take a tour of the award winning Boston Beer Company brewery and have a beer, it’s all good.
