Monte, fine dining in Rovinj
  Monte Restaurant, Rovinj, Croatia

Monte is just one of the Rovinj restaurants putting the town on the map.

Run by husband wife duo, Tjitske and Daniel, this picturesque eatery prides itself on offering the finest dining around.

Situated at the foot of St Euphemia Cathedral, Restaurant Monte is the place to go for a first-class meal and even though its prices are higher than anywhere else, the food quality more than makes up for it.

Main courses at the restaurant are split into two categories - 'From the Sea' and 'From the Land'. There are also plenty of vegetarian dishes to choose from, but to make the most of the first-class food, invest in the five-course tasting menu.

Daniel, who has worked in some of the finest kitchens in Europe, uses only the freshest locally-sourced ingredients available while Tjitske - who is fluent in several languages - focuses on the customers.

The couple also know their stuff when it comes to wine and specialise in the finest Croatian brands.

A great find.
