The great thing about having your own apartment when you travel is that certain element of privacy you never really get in a hotel. Plus, if you’re lucky enough to meet some crazy friends who want to stay up, party or eat tapas till the early hours, there’s plenty of room for everyone to do whatever they like in the comfort of your very own sitting room!
If you haven’t got long to spend exploring Madrid, your best bet is undoubtedly to stay as close to everything as possible. The Sandoval Apartments are just a stone’s throw from Bilbao (the blue line, 1) metro station, which in turn puts everything right on your doorstep. Located in the centre of Madrid in a newly reconditioned character building, the Sandoval apartments sit right around the corner from Starbucks so you’ve even got your morning coffee sorted if you’re too lazy to brew your own!
When we arrived, cold and tired, we were met at the door by a rep from The Apartment Service Worldwide, who handed us our own key before taking us up in the lift and showing us round what was to be our home for the next two days and nights. We loved the big bed with its giant painting of London on the wall, the modern fitted kitchen and the comfy lounge. We were even shown a special translator on the TV, so we could watch in English as well as Spanish – not that we’d be spending too much time studying the box. There was a city to explore!
The Sandoval Apartments are a great choice if you’re traveling for corporate business, with a friend, lover or indeed, the entire family. The apartments are all well lit with wooden floors, luxury kitchens and come fully furnished. They also come with cleaning once a week, but remember to hang up your towels every day after your shower!
