Hastings House - a stylish seaside retreat
Nowhere lifts the spirit quite like the seaside, so if you need to get away from it all, head to Hastings House. This luxurious B&B is located in a cute little garden square, in St Leonards-on-Sea, and has some of the most stylish rooms in Hastings - not to mention marvellous sea views.
The friendly owners, Seng and Elisabeth, have pulled out all the stops to transform this beautiful Victorian building into an award-winning boutique B&B. And, being just a stone's throw from the beach and all the town's attractions, it has certainly earned its place in the Good Hotel Guide 2010.
The emphasis at Hastings House is most firmly on style and each one of its eight bedrooms has been individually designed.
Comfy yet fashionable, the B&B attracts a cool young crowd so as well as all the mod-cons (WiFi, Freeview, flat screen TVs and DVD players), think bright colours, feature headboards and funky wallpaper designs.
Elegant spa-style bathrooms add a touch of class to the rooms, and there are plenty of other decadent five-star touches, like the complimentary Ferrero Rocher and the deliciously soft King-size beds, which are a treat to sink in to.
Breakfast is a highly organised affair at Hastings House, but it's certainly worth it - Elisabeth cooks up a mean morning meal and I can particularly recommend the porridge, Austrian style.
The perfect place to be beside the sea.
