Hotel La Tremoille
La Tremoille hotel, just behind the Champs-Elysées and Avenue George V, an area stuffed full of designer boutiques, posh restaurants and Parisian apartments with their wrought iron balconies, has been a discreet bolthole since 1883 - now totally revamped in elegant style. Room 508 on the fifth floor has a wrap around balcony with a little table for two and a view of the top of the Eiffel Tower with its nightly laser beams. There’s more than a touch of the Moulin Rouges here. Rooms have rich furnishings with decadent fur throws on the bed and multiple Molton Brown bottles in the marble bathroom. A gift box of Laduree biscuits in signature lilac box is a nice touch. Downstairs there’s a tinkly piano lounge for cocktails and the new Louis 2 restaurant with exquisite cuisine. The hotel makes light work of arranging Mercedes transfers, bottles of Champagne, in room massages and a Seine river cruise.
