The Gianicolo
recommended by
Paola Pane
The Janiculum hill (Gianicolo) is the tallest hill in Rome, it rises above Trastevere and the Vatican and offers a stunning view of the city and a peaceful atmosphere, botanical gardens, a baroque fountain (il “Fontanone”), and the church of San Pietro in Montorio. Adults can stop at the little coffee bar and children can enjoy the puppet show (performing on weekends, just to the left of Piazzale Garibaldi) and a merry-go-round.
