Getting around Barcelona

Airport
Barcelona has its own airport, El Prat. British Airways, EasyJet and Iberia all fly there from the UK.
The Aerobus runs from El Prat to Placa Catalunya and stops at Placa d’Espanya, C/Urgell and Placa Universitat. Buses run every 12-13 minutes from 6 am to midnight Monday to Friday and 6.30am - midnight at weekends. The journey is 35 - 40 minutes at a cost of €3.75 for a single and €6.75 for a return (valid for one week).
Alternatively a taxi from the airport to central Barcelona should cost between €18-€26 plus €3 airport tax.
Getting Around
Metro: The metro is the quickest and easiest form of transport and is open from 5 am - midnight from Monday to Thursday, 5 am - 2 am Fridays and Saturdays, and 6 am - midnight on Sunday.
Buses: There are extensive bus stops, most of which run into the city centre (Placa Catalunya and Placa Universitat). They generally run every 10 - 15 minutes from 6.30 am - 10.30 pm daily, except Sundays. There are also nightbuses which run through the city centre.
Fares: There is a flat fare of €1.20 for a single journey in the city. However a 10-trip ticket (T-10) will save you money. It is valid for any number of people and allows you access to the city’s main transport systems (metro, buses, trams, local RENFE & FGC trains).
Taxis
The basic rate for a taxi is €1.30 or €1.40 after 9 pm and at weekends. They rarely take credit cards.
Cycling
There are a network of cycle routes, though this is a pretty risky option!
