Amirandes Exclusive Resort
Greece’s largest hotel company and most successful family run business, Grecotel, is opening the Amirandes, attempting to raise the bar for luxury in Greece. Situated on a pristine stretch of Cretan coastline, this seasonal (May to October) beachfront resort will have 214 rooms and suites and has been designed in the style of the ancient Minoan palaces, with sleek low rise buildings based on the elements of water, fire and earth surrounded by olive and palm trees. Distinctive antiques and collectables, including ancient Pithi ceramic urns and vibrant coloured wall hangings give local colour and a sense of place to the clean lines. Grecotel owners’, the Daskalantonakis family researched its guest profiles carefully to produce 24 different accommodation types to suit different budgets and interests ranging from superior guestrooms in the main building to family villas with pools. In fact the resort will have 100 private pools, as well as shallow palm-fringed lagoons and an Olympic sized sea water swimming pool. The resort’s Elixir Spa will feature Ayurveda treatments by Indian therapists or signature Greek Elixir therapies including Magic Honey therapy.
