The Punchbowl Inn

Romantic Lakeland walks, inspiring scenery and the poetry of William Wordsworth. What could be better? Book into the Punchbowl Inn in Crosthwaite and you’ll be smitten.

This beautifully renovated stone building sits back from the road between Kendal and nowhere. The Lake District’s tranquil vibe is all around, whether you’re lounging on leather sofas or relaxing in one of nine bedrooms with rich fabrics, plasma TVs, roll-top baths on underfloor heated limestone and power showers. I recommend The Noble Room which covers the whole of the third floor and has sexy twin baths overlooking the Lyth Valley. Rooms from £160 per night. Noble Room from £280 per night. Rates include breakfast, afternoon tea and newspaper.
