Pumulani on Lake Malawi
As a perfect combination to its famous camps in the Zambian bush, Robin Pope Safaris is opening Pumulani resort on the shores of Lake Malawi – heralded as ‘the brightest star on the lake’. Situated on the westside of the Nankumba Peninsula in the south end of Lake Malawi, it will have 10 villas built up the hillside (four twin, four king, one honeymoon and one family that sleeps five), each with its own deck giving wonderful views of the Lake. There will also be a private beach with its own bar. Activities will include snorkelling, kayaking, water skiing, fun tube, wake boarding, sailing, fishing and scuba diving. For those who want to get acquainted with true African life, there will also be village walks. For birdwatchers there is an abundance of birds in the both the lake shore beach and gardens as well as the hillside woodland. At the end of the day, guests can enjoy Africa’s most spectacular sunsets from the pool on the upper terrace, from the beach or on board a dhow. This 12 metre wooden boat is handcrafted by local inhabitants of Likoma Island.
