A grandiose oval overlooked by the Pincio gardens, the piazza has an Egyptian obelisk and lion fountain at its centre, twin churches announcing the Via del Corso shopping street, and the wonderful Santa Maria del Populo church with a chapel by Raphael, powerful paintings by Caravaggio and some lovely Pinturicchio frescoes.
