Product Review

Nice! Got this one out of the parcel this morning and was immediately purring “I hope they don’t want this one back.” It looks like the coolest drooliest satchel-bag-case yet…

I’ll look a bit closer: LE Reporter is made by "be.ez", a French lot with an annoying trying-to-be-street-trendy name. “LE Reporter” is an annoying name too. But don’t let that put you off.

I thought it was leather. Derrr, they should never let me write these things. Of course it’s not. It’s a sort of waterproof pvc coated canvas material but is light, tough and very travel friendly.

Mine is the black one with yellow stitching and interior. Very neat and not too girlie although the taller more well-built lady should not be put off. Anyway girls have got their own grey and blue version available too.

There’s a small be.ez logo on the front of Le Reporter but it’s not too embarrassing, unfortunately they have picked out the second ‘e’ in yellow just to be extra nerdy.

The construction of LE Reporter seems good. I yanked the strap and pulled as hard as I could on the flap, then did the zips really fast about 376 times. Nothing has broken but I’m feeling a bit tired and bored now.

What else can I say? Oh yes, there are lots of pockets: a big zipped one on the front and one on the back. Lift the velcroed flap and there’s another wide zipped one plus two compartments in the bag. One is for the computer/laptop/netbook. This is padded and elevated from the bottom of the bag so it doesn’t matter if you drop it out of a helicopter onto a concrete floor then throw rocks at it.

The other internal pocket has various cubbies for other stuff, like drugs or weapons or, if you are a lady, perfume and rubber gloves.

There are a couple of webbing straps on the front that are so mysterious the press release writer clearly didn’t know what they are for either. Then there’s a wide nylon shoulder strap with a padded shoulder bit, again for the ladies.
