Positano

recommended by Paola Pane

Positano is a tiny charming town of buildings clinging to the mountains, facing the Galli islands on the side of the coast where the sun rises. An immense variety of magnificent flowers blooms over the paths. The walk from the top towards the beach is lined with all kinds of pottery shops and boutiques, where sandals, swimming suits and cotton shirts are all hanged out, colouring the streets together with the bougainvilleas from the lovely balconies of gorgeous homes and beautiful hotels.

Le Sirenuse is a gem: www.sirenuse.it and the San Pietro is stuninng: www.ilsanpietro.it; it’s tough to choose between these two amazing luxury hotels!

Taste a granita or a "delizia al limone" at the cafe and pastry shop "Zagara", sip a coffee or have lunch at the "Buca di Bacco" (via Rampa Teglia 4, phone 089 875699), have dinner at the “Cambusa” (piazza Amerigo Vespucci 4, phone 089 875432) or “Chez Black” (via del Brigantino, phone 089 875452), and dance until late night under the stars in the enchanted disco "Music on the Rocks" right on the beach (www.musicontherocks.it).
