The Crazy Bear’s funky colour, design and style prove that modern doesn’t have to mean boring. This Oxfordshire hotel's emphasis is on art and design of high quality, from flamboyant spiralling modern wrought ironwork and fantastic Italian baths - some of which drift into the bedrooms - to Philippe Starck furniture.
The main hotel has nine bedrooms while two cottages sleep five and six. Choosing your room is a hard task as they’re all so different - they range from wildly rustic to minimal chic - but all feature hi-tech Bose sound and vision equipment and delicious Molton Brown bath and body products.
In The Crazy Bear's bustling, beamed bar, champagne is served on tap (no, really) with rock oysters and a hangover-inducing house cocktail list while the two restaurants offer excellent Thai or European fare.
