This place amazed me. I thought it was either going to be a great hotel with a run down spa or a great spa with some grotty rooms on the side, but it is both a great hotel and a great spa - but not only that it caters fantastically for children too! We went for a weekend with a two year old and we still managed to come away relaxed! The Playzone was just fab as it meant we didn’t have to bring too many toys with us and it also catered well for older children too. The babysitting service used local mum’s who had previously been nannies too so for two of the nights we took advantage of this and ate in the lovely restaurant there. I loved the fact that at breakfast we were shown to a table already laid with toddler appropriate crockery and cutlery. It’s not a cheap weekend away but if you’re looking for somewhere you want to be pampered at, eat well at but bring your children to, without feeling they’re not really welcome, then I would highly recommend you go to Calcot Manor
