The Stables Spa at the Harte & Garter Hotel
The Harte & Garter Hotel dates way back to the 14th century but has recently been stylishly refurbished. It’s most striking feature remains its proximity to its neighbour – Windsor Castle which rises up majestically just across the road. At the back of the hotel is the new Stables Spa (developed from a 200 year old stable), that is perhaps not one of the most sophisticated or lavish spas in the world, but certainly one that has integrity and mass appeal. Its cosy location tucked behind the hotel, friendly staff and dark fushia and chocolate brown interiors make it welcoming and a bit of a treat, rather than intimidating and overly designed. Clients are offered a hot pink leather chair to sink into whilst filling out a medical form, along with water and fresh berries. In the changing rooms, there are the softest beige robes to put on so that you can pad down to the large hydro-therapy pool, Finnish sauna, Crystal Steam room, Rasul Chamber and fancy ‘experience’ shower taking you from the Caribbean Sea to the Atlantic Ocean. Signature treatments include Ayus Lomi massage, a combination of Ayurvedic and Hawaiian Lomi. Spa brands include Futuresse using Lotus Blossom extract, Biodroga Systems and LCN Spa for hands, nails and feet. All treatments begin with a Futuresse welcoming ceremony creating an atmosphere of deep relaxation. Therapists are top notch.
